Monday was a relaxed day after the sealing we went to the Plaza de Armas where we met up with Brent's friends and fellow returned missionaries and their mission president, president Rodriguez for pictures. While at the Mcdonald's at the Plaza de Armas we saw these missionaries on their p-day.
We took a picture of the group that was still there, some had already left to go back to their homes in Peru or the States, and some of the ones we saw in Lima at the Lima fireside were not able to make it to Trujillo, but still it was a pretty big group of the Trujillo mission returned missionaries.
As we were taking the pictures the Elders that had been at Mcdonald's, plus some extra ones, there were sisters too, walked by and we started clapping and cheering them and called them to come and meet the returned missionaries that had served 30 years ago and had opened the Trujillo mission. They were so excited to meet them and talk to Brent and the others and hear their stories of their mission. We invited them to pose for the pictures. It was such a neat experience especially when we all clapped and showed our appreciation for these wonderful missionaries serving now in Trujillo.

Visiting Ema Alva. Ema was Brent's pensionist and she took such great care of him and fed him well while he was serving in Trujillo. I could tell how much she loved Brent. She was so happy we went to see her. She had found out we were there when she went to the Friday night fireside. We were not able to go to the fireside because Friday night is when we got to Trujillo after driving 8 hours and we were tired. We had planned on going to that fireside but could not and when we found out that Ema was there we were sad we didn't see her. We were told she was really sad we were not there at the fireside. She said she would have been so sad if we did not stop by to see her. We didn't know where she lived but luckily for us one of Brent's friends from his mission, Orlando Handa, had Ema's phone number and we were able to call her and get her address. It was a happy reunion.
| With Ema and her husband. He is the first member of the church in Trujillo. |
