School Fall Social

Today I went and helped out in Conner's classroom during their Fall social/party. They just had some free time to play and have some food. It was good for them to just play and eat and just break the routine of doing school work.

"Mr. Simms is the best teacher ever"

Conner's teacher Mr. Anthony Simms came to visit us today. He likes to do home visits to get to know the child and their family. He is an awesome teacher. He said he started doing his visits because when he taught in Pine Hills (a very poor area in Orlando) none of the parents would come to parent-teacher conference so he had to go to their homes if he wanted to speak with the parents. Conner was so excited to have him come, when he left he said "Mr. Simms is the best teacher ever!"

Conner won't be a cub scout until April but they invited him to their Halloween activity. He had a lot of fun.

Favorite food and a little helper

The other day I was craving "Surullitos de maiz", or Corn sticks. Growing up this was one of my favorite food.

You mix cornmeal, water, cheese and salt (I skipped the salt)

You form the sticks and then fry them. I very rarely fry foods.

You eat them with a dip of mayonnaise with ketchup and garlic. It is so good!

Brent brought home some work the other day and Conner really wanted to help him. He did a good job!!

Fall and Winter Seasons: is my favorite time of the year

I love it when the weather turns cooler. Here in Florida is so hot and humid that fall and winter feel so good!!! I really love the weather we are having these days. I am now into wearing boots and I went to the store yesterday and found these gray boots, and I had to have them. They were cheap too!!! I already have a pair of black boots and now gray, I want brown ones too.

I love the decorations from October to December, it is so much fun!!

I took out my Halloween decorations and got to thinking that these pumpkins have been my favorites for a long time. I made them at a homemaking meeting when we lived in California, I think they are like 19 years old!!

Today we had Stake Conference and I was sustained in my new calling as the Stake Relief Society Secretary.

We are having awesome weather lately, so it made it easier to be out in the sun.

Today we went to the Pumpkin patch.

Conner had his last soccer game today. Brent took pictures of the game with his phone camera so we need to figure out how to put them into our computer.
