I am tired of being tired

Today I am tired of medications!!!! I have had it. About two months ago my doctor changed my prescription and it makes it very difficult to wake up in the morning. Lately it has been so hard that it takes me until the afternoon to really feel awake, all I want to do is just sit and do nothing. I have to push myself to go to the gym. I called my doctor and now I am WAITING to see if he changes my medication. It is 4:30 PM and I am still sleepy and grouchy!!! Other than that life's great!!!

No-pastry pear and almond tart

I was watching a cooking show today and the host was showing how to make this really easy tart. I like easy, I don't like to cook complicated stuff. Here is the recipe;

Step 1
mix
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 cup flour
4 oz of ground almonds
one lemon zest only (don't go to far to the bitter white part)

Step 2
In a separate bowl whisk 5 egg whites for 30 seconds until just frothy
Add the whisked egg whites and 12 Tablespoons of warm melted butter to the dry mixture
Pour into a greased and floured 10 inch tart tin.

Step 3
Two ripe pears, cored and quartered and then cut into long slices
2 Tablespoons of flaked almonds

Arrange the pieces of pear on top of the mixture they will sink a little. Sprinkle the almonds on top.

Cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes and then lower to 350 and cook for another 10 minutes. The filling should feel firm to the touch in the center when cooked through. Remove from the oven and let sit in the tin for a few minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack. To serve place on a plate and dust with powder sugar.

I can't wait to try it!

Conner today

Today as Conner and I were driving to the YMCA he was listening to his Primary songs, as he always does, and started to ask me questions about the pre-existence and the temple and life after death. The twenty minute ride turned into a FHE moment. I thought it was neat that he was asking so many questions and I explained to him how it is important that we do what is right so we can go back to our Heavenly Father. When we were driving home I noticed a sign outside a church that said: "Free ticket to Heaven, come inside to find out more". It just made me think of how easy it is to just get a ticket to Heaven and not have to do any work. Being a member of the LDS church takes a lot of work and sacrifice. I find it interesting that I had just told that to Conner, that he needed to be baptized, listen to the Prophet and do what is right and go to the temple so that he could get to the Celestial kingdom, in short work for his salvation.
