We have been busy doing Scout stuff

Parker is busy working on his Eagle Scout project. He is doing a Diaper Drive to benefit Baby Basics. They distribute diapers to families in need.  He is going to have a drive at his old Elementary School. The student Council at the school will be helping in collecting the diapers during the morning drop off and afternoon pick up of the students. He is also having another drive at our Stake Center and another one, a Zumba drive in Kissimmee.  My friend Tony Soto who is a Zumba instructor is doing a Zumba class and those who wish to come have to donate a box of diapers to get into the class.

We went bowling.  Conner needed to play 4 games of bowling for his bowling belt loop and pin.  We went last week and played two games and went back yesterday for the last two games.

Lunch with friends

My wonderful Zumba friends took me to lunch on Thursday for my birthday. They are such wonderful ladies.  I enjoy being with them.  

My 47th birthday!!

I can't believe I am 47!! When I was a little kid I used to think that 40's was old!! Oh I do NOT feel old, hahaha.  I had a great day.  My friend Sister Yaremi Olvera gave me a manicure and pedicure as a birthday gift. Then I went and had my hair done.  We went to Bonefish for dinner with the Olvera's.  Brent brought a cake to the restaurant.  It was an awesome day.

Alison and I went to the University Mall the day before she entered the MTC and she picked out this dress for me. I was waiting until my birthday to wear it.  She picked a cute dress.

Pack meeting

At Conner's Pack meeting on Wednesday, September 5th, he got the belt loop and pin for golf and swimming.  He also had made a peg rack.

Ward activity on the lake

We had a ward activity on the lake at the Munn's house. We had a wonderful time.  Conner is on the right side of the picture wearing his red swim shirt.

Conner and I went on a boat ride.  The Barreiros live on the other side of the lake from the Munns.  They brought their boat and were giving people rides.  The house on the distance is Shaquille O'neal's. It is huge!!

You can see his life size statue of Superman on the dock. I drive by his house everyday but we don't get to see the whole house because of the wall.  The house is so big.

Goodbye to our Mazda Van!

Two weeks ago we loaned our extra car, the MPV, to a family in the ward that needed it.  A lady crashed into our van and caused $5000.00 worth of damage to the front of the van.  The insurance totaled the van because it was not worth repairing it.  I remember when we bought the van, July 1998. The kids were so excited.  We brought it home and I had to go run some errands and they all jumped in the van with me to go because they wanted a ride in the new car.  I took really good care of it, sometimes scrubbing the carpets with carpet cleaner.  The guy that gave us the estimate on the repair told Brent that it looked like we took good care of it.  The girls all learned how to drive in the van.  It makes me sad, I really liked having the extra car for emergencies, and it was still a really good car!!
