Brinley came home!!
The boys were not allowed to visit the baby in the hospital so they had to wait until she got home to see her. Today Brinley went home from the hospital today so we spent the afternoon with them. The boys were so excited to see her. You can see the excitement in their faces. They did not want to leave when it was time to go home.

Brent's cousin Julie sent us this email and it was so funny that I thought I would post it.

for a chain of non-pretentious Mormon-themed restaurants called
"The Steak Centers"

Each Steak Center will have one enormous dining area with basketball hoops at both ends and folding metal chairs and long tables covered with plastic tablecloths.
The Steak Centers will not have hostesses, but greeters--men in their seventees will meet you at the door and talk like they have known you all your life.

Update
We have been busy with tax season. I started working at the office last week so things are a little crazy. It is really fun to work here with Brent. I am only going to be here until Alison comes home in April and then she will work in the office through the summer to earn money for school.
We are waiting for Brittany to have her baby. She is now 7 days past her due date. We are really excited to see Brinley. I wonder how big she will be, I remember being only 5 days late with Brittany and she was 9 lbs. 3 oz. That might not be very big for some but for a small person like me, that is big.

Time Out for Women and Gladys Knight and Saints Unified Voices
With Dallyn Vail Bayles
With Emily Freeman
With Mariama Kallon
With Deann Flynn
I had a WONDERFUL weekend. My friend Maricarmen came from Puerto Rico on Thursday. On Friday morning we went to the temple and later that evening we went to "Time Out for Women". I really needed a time out.
The theme was "Infinite hope".
The presenters on Friday were Wendy L. Watson Nelson, Elder Russell M. Nelson's wife. She spoke to us about how women have superior spirituality in the marriage relationship, more inclination towards spirituality. Before we came to earth we made a premortal commitment and we have "things to do" while on the earth to fulfill the measure of our creation. She quoted D & C 6:36, we should look unto Christ, and fear not. We can become who we really are through Christ.
Sheri Dew-spoke about our influence as LDS women and others influence on us. Who are we allowing to influence us? As women we have profound influence on others.
1. Women be nice to each other, watch your tongue and don't make judgement.
2. Know who you are. Ask Heavenly Father to teach us who we are. Ask the Lord in prayer how he feels about you.
3.Luke 4:18, Understanding the atonement as a healing power, for sadness, discouragement. Take your heartache and weakness to the Lord.
4.How to do what we came here to do? There are things that distract or attract the spirit. Make changes in your life to be able to listen to the spirit.
We also went to the Saturday session of Time out for women. These were the presenters.
Deanne Flynn- Where there is Christ there is hope. As parents we model the pattern. We need to listen and offer hope to our children. D&C 52:14 the Lord gave us the pattern to follow in all things that we may not be deceived. There are deceiving patterns that promote negative outcomes in the end. Be open to the spirit. Patterns set by the Lord are there for a reason. The scriptures are a pattern given to us by the Lord to give us hope. Develop patterns like FHE, daily scripture reading, prayer and church attendance. Do not take short cuts. The gospel is the pattern to follow.
Michael Wilcox-He spoke about how there are times when the Lord walks with us and we are not aware. You can find hope everywhere you look. All things above and beneath bear record of the Lord. He spoke about personal revelation. He said how God is mindful of every people that the worlds are without numbers but they are numbered unto him. He remembers every creature of his creation. As we wait for our time of his manifestation unto us that we are filled with infinite hope knowing that he remembers and blesses and prays for us.
Mariama Kallon-She is from Sierra Leone and she spoke how her parents were so poor they could not provide an education for her. Her parents were killed by the rebels. She saw when her brother and sister's legs were cut off and they were killed by the rebels. She is incredible she practically knew the scriptures by heart. She found the gospel and was baptized. She said that she needed to find work to be able to survive but she did not know what to do. She read in 2nd Nephi 4: 26-27, she said how many of the girls had gone into prostitution to be able to survive but she was not going to do that. She got interested in missionary work and wanted to serve a mission but she needed to care for her step sister and nephew and she had no family support. Her bishop offered to care for them while she was on her mission. She found comfort in D&C 84:88 that angels would bear her up and D&C 31: 2. and that her sister and nephew would be blessed. She went to the temple square mission. She brought with her the hope kit that she had received in Africa and in it was a shampoo, comb, soap, cloth, toothbrush and toothpaste. The person who drove her to the airport told her not to take the kit to America because America was the land of everything, but still she wanted to bring it. She spoke about how her missionary companions would receive packages from their families and she did not, so the parents of her companions started to send her packages, she called those parents the angels that beared her up like in D&C. While on her mission a married couple told her that they wanted to adopt a child from Africa and asked her if she knew of anyone. They ended up adopting her step sister and nephew. Her step sister married in the temple and is about to have a baby. She said that is how the promise in D&C that her family would be blessed while on her mission was fulfilled. She had no idea where her hope kit had come from and while on her mission she found out that her hope kit had come from the LDS Church.
Merrilee Boyack-Spoke about the choices that we make and the power of those choices. Choosing to be cheerful despite our afflictions. She likes to think of trials as "strengthening opportunities". D&C 68:6, be of good cheer. Choosing to be cheerful is life sustaining, Chosing to be happy helps the body heal. Our choice of attitude towards God can make our life easier or harder. When we choose to willingly accept the will of the Lord the doors open and we learn things we can not learn any other way. Suffering leads us closer to the Lord. She spoke how she had breast cancer and her husband lost his job and they had to sell their home. She had a good attitude about it and it helped her heal. HOPE= Have, Optimistic, Positive, Experiences.
Emily Freeman-Spoke about having doubts and discouragement. 1 Peter 3:10, love life, see good days and have hope. She spoke how Nephi saw the tender mercies of the Lord (1 Nephi 1:20) and learn to enjoy the journey while his brothers Laman and Lemuel were angry. The scriptures tell us to SEE good days not HAVE good days.
On Saturday Dallyn Vail Bayles, a proffesional actor and singer who is currently performing around the country with The Phantom of the opera performed for us. On Saturday Mercy River a group of three LDS women also performed for us. We also got to assemble the hope kits. We each donated items for the kits. They had set a goal of making 150 kits but we were able to make 257 kits.

On Saturday night we saw Gladys Knight and her Saints Unified Voices choir. They were so interesting because they sing gospel music. I am not used to that but it was wonderful and the spirit was so strong. Gladys and her husband bore their testimony.
