Conner's baptism

Conner and dad

Our little family these days.  We sure missed having Ashley, James and Ronan; Brittany, Bronson, Brinley and Reagan; and Alison with us!!

Conner's School teacher Mr. Simms came to his baptism.  He came a little late, right when Conner came out of the water.  But he got to see the rest of the program.

All our friends that came to the baptism.

Conner

With Mr. Anthony Simms
Parker gave the opening prayer.  Conner's primary teacher Sister Leila Muñoz gave the talk on Baptism.  We had a musical number "I am a child of God" by Conner, Daniel and Haley Larson and Miriam Penrod.  They did a good job!  Then Brent baptized Conner.  Brother Michael Wilson 2nd counselor in the Bishopric gave a talk on the baptism.  Then the confirmation of Conner by Brent. Then Sister Heidi Larson gave a primary message and Sister Yaremi Olvera gave him his Faith in God booklet and she also gave the closing prayer.  After we were done we were talking to Mr. Simms Conner's teacher and he said a few words to Conner.  He told him that getting baptized was really good. He said "I am going to tell you something now that I can not tell you at school because we can't talk about religion at school".  He said "School is important but God is more important.  God will always be there for you".  I thought that was really neat of him.  He is not a member of the church and it was very nice for him to come.  He likes to go to the kid's activities.

After Conner's baptism we had a birthday party for Conner. We had a few people over at our house and we had a great time.  The kids swam in the pool and played on the playground.  We had dinner and cake for everyone.

After School activities for Conner

For the past few months Conner has been taking a golf class after school on Fridays.  Today was the last day.  Here is a picture with all the kids in the group.

Here he is getting his certificate from his golf coach, Jeff.

He also has been staying after school on Thursdays to take a Spanish class.  Yesterday was the last day and the kids in the class did a little presentation to show us what they have learned.  Conner does a very good job and he has learned a lot of Spanish.  Here he is with his teacher Mrs. Maya Fernandez who also happens to be his soccer coach's wife.

My boys

Having boys that are 8 years apart is challenging.  They don't really like the same things because they are so far apart in age.  So I thought it was funny to see Parker play Tinker Toys with Conner.
Conner loves to copy Parker.

Parker, Alison and I got to attend the Saturday session of General Conference. It was so wonderful that I want to do it again.  This was while we were waiting in line.
Again while we were in line waiting to get into the conference center.
We had some time before conference and walked around the temple grounds.

We had a wonderful time in Utah during our spring break.  Brent was not able to stay long, he was only there for a couple of days.  He had to get back because of tax season.  During our stay we had Reagan's blessing, Alison went through the temple, Parker went to the temple with grandma Hanson to do baptisms and had a wonderful time and Alison, Parker and I got to go to conference.  We had a great time with family!

My mom passed away on April 7, 2011. I can't believe that it has been a year already since my mom passed away. This year has gone so fast. It seems like it was yesterday that I saw her last but it has been a year!! I still miss just as much!!

Conner is 8 years old

Today Conner turned 8. It is a special birthday because he gets to be baptized at the end of the month. Conner is very smart. He loves puzzles and to memorize maps and the capitals of the States. He also loves to play video games. So for his birthday I got him a World Atlas (he already has a US atlas), a book about the US Presidents, Spanish flashcards (we are working on his Spanish and he is pretty good. He knows a lot of words and now we need to work on putting them to sentences), and a DS game.
