3 Nephi 9:14 Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.
3 Nephi11:28 And according as I have commanded you thus shall ye baptize. And there shall be no disputations among you, as there have hitherto been; neither shall there be disputations among you concerning the points of my doctrine, as there have hitherto been.
3 Nephi 11:29 For verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the devil, who is the father of contention, and he stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another.
3 Nephi 11:30 Behold, this is not my doctrine, to stir up the hearts of men with anger, one against another; but this is my doctrine, that such things should be done away.
3 Nephi 11:37 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and become as a little child, and be baptized in my name, or ye can in nowise receive these things.
Jesus Christ wants us to come to Him. He invites us to follow Him and become like Him. He doesn't force us to, we have our freedom to choose. He sends prophets and leaders in the church to teach us and help us but in the end is us who need to choose. Now in the world the tendency is to not believe there is a God. There is a lot of contention, even with those who are members of the church who want to change the doctrine to accommodate how they feel and how they live. But that is not Heavenly Father's way. We need to change ourselves, we need to follow the Doctrine of Christ and be more like Him. The doctrine of Christ is simple, repent, be baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end. There are other things we must do to endure to the end, we need to stay in the covenant path, making and keeping covenants with our Heavenly Father. Heavenly Father will always keep His covenants and will always help us in our lives so that we can return to Him.
18 I am the light and the life of the world. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
Jesus is the source of light. He helps us, He gives us the strength we need to do our work here on earth. He helps us become like Him. We need Him. The world is a dark place but with Christ at our side we can feel confident that we will endure to the end and be victorious and live with God again.
