What we have been up to

We went to the m&m store and bought some m&m's for the wedding reception.

Parker liked this guitar but it was too expensive for his budget, $271.00

I promised a friend I would do a Pampered Chef show at my house. We had this delicious chicken ring.

And this Red, white and Blueberry Trifle, SO GOOD.

We had our brick pavers washed and sealed for the wedding reception and when they pressure washed them it got the pool dirty with tons of sand. Brent had to vacuum the pool, not easy to do. What a stud!!!

We have been busy getting ready for the reception so we haven't been able to take the kids anywhere this summer. They have been happy just swimming in our pool.

I have been doing a lot of planting to spruce up the yard for the wedding.

More swimming, even Bronson got in on the action. The kids love to play with him and James when he is around. We are excited to have them in our family.

New church building

Today after church we drove by the new church building that is being built 5 minutes away from our house. I was surprised to see how far along it is. We still don't know for sure if this will be our building but we are hoping. Right now we drive 20 minutes to church, which is not terrible but it would be nice to only drive 5 minutes. We spend so much of our time at church that every minute adds up.

Funny

I was reading in the newspaper about a church called "The Cowboy Church". I thought their Ten Commandments were interesting.

1. Just one God.
2.Honor yer Ma & Pa
3.No tellin' tales or gossipin'
4.Git yerself to Sunday meetin'
5.Put nothin' before God
6.No foolin' around with another fellow's gal
7.No killin'
8.Watch yer mouth
9.Don't take what ain't yers
10.Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff

Happy 4th of July!!!!!

Brent and Parker get home today after one week away at scout camp in Georgia. It sounds like they had a great time. The first thing Conner said when he woke up this morning was "Daddy and Parker come home today". He had a hard time when they left last Saturday. For Conner Saturday is the best day of the week because daddy doesn't have to work and he plays with him all day.

Update

After one week of physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medication my foot is feeling much better. My therapist made an insert for my shoe and it has made a big difference. It is annoying to wear it because it is a big bump that sits on the ball of my foot so that my toe just hangs, that way there is no pressure put on my toe. I just have to get used to it.

Weird!!!!!

For the past year I have had pain on my left foot, under my big toe. It mostly happens during exercise, or when I am standing for a long period of time. I bought new tennis shoes which helped ease the pain. As the shoes got older the pain came back. Well, I went to the orthopedic surgeon today and he took x-rays of both my feet. I found out that I am missing a bone on my big toe. This is called "congenital absence of the tibial sesamoid", this is an infrequent ocurrence (very rare). We have two sesamoid bones in the big toes and on my left toe I have only one. I was also diagnosed with sesamoiditis which is inflammation and swelling around the sesamoid bone. The doctor said that this condition causes your toe to turn closer towards the other toes. I am so glad to know why I was limping everyday after going to the gym. Now I need to have physical therapy on my foot and if that doesn't work I will wear an insert in my shoes when I work out. This is so weird that Brent laughed at me. I was kind of sad at first, I don't know why, but now I think it's a little funny. It is very painful though, that part is not funny. It hurts to walk barefoot on the tile floor so I bought these comfortable sandals that I wear all the time. So weird!!!

Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's day to the best daddy in the world!!! Here are some pictures of Brent with the kids opening presents. Alison is not in the pictures because she was sick.

This is a bookmark made with Conner's footprint, it is so cute. He made it in preschool and it has been hiding it in his closet, patiently waiting for Father's day.
