We had a great Thanksgiving and we hope you did too. We are thankful for our family and we missed being with Ashley and Brittany at this time of year.

Gratitude
This is a wonderful time to be living here on earth. Our opportunities are limitless. While there are some things wrong in the world today, there are many things right, such as teachers who teach, ministers who minister, marriages that make it, parents who sacrifice, and friends who help."We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues" (Thomas S. Monson, "An Attitude of Gratitude," Ensign, May 1992, 54).

Conner and his Sunbeam class
Here is a picture of Conner, his Sunbeam teacher Sister Flores and his class. Today was Nathan's last day (he is standing next to Conner). He is moving to Temecula, California. We had Nathan over to play on Thursday, and as I was putting Conner in the car after we had taken Nathan home, Conner said to me in a very sad voice "I am going to miss Nathan forever". We wish him and his family the best.

I am thankful for you
Conner is so sweet and so loving. Today Brent was writing a talk on being grateful and he asked me for some advice. Conner was standing next to us so I just turned to him and asked him what he was thankful for, he pointed to me and said “you“. I just melted, I love this little guy.
Lately Conner has been obsessed with The Aristocats, funny that this was one of my favorite Disney stories when I was little. I was explaining to the kids how we did not have DVDs or even videos. We had records and we had to follow along with a book, somehow we survived. Here is Conner's funny goose waddle as he imitates the geese from the movie.

Conner's Halloween program
Here is a video of Conner's pre-school class singing one of the songs at their halloween program. The kids really enjoyed having grandma and grandpa visit us and going to all of their activities. Conner cried really hard at the airport when they left, it was sad. This was taken with my regular digital camera not my video camera so it is not very good. I wanted to post this sooner but I just haven't had time. Conner is the firefighter.
Keeping our kids safe
Last week I got an email about an attempted abduction. This happened at an elementary school just down the street from Conner's pre-school and 10 minutes from our home. The little girl was on her way home from school when she noticed a car sitting at the stop sign in the bus loop at her school. She proceeded on her way home when all of a sudden the car sped up and came to an abrupt stop within close proximity of the girl, so close that the tires were on the sidewalk. The couple in the car told her to "GET IN THE CAR". Fortunately she rode her bike as fast as she could and got away. Her dad asked her how she knew what to do? She said she remembered the safety program she took in school about 3 years ago where she was told to run in the other direction if someone tried to pick you up.
When you hear something like this a lot of things go through your mind. I became more paranoid than I already am. But after a few days everything goes back to normal and you kind of forget about it. Then today I got another email from our home owners association president, and she said that yesterday a mom from our neighborhood was waiting for the elementary school bus to arrive. When her daughter got off the bus she wanted to walk home instead of riding in her car. As she started walking she saw this man parked at the entrance of our neighborhood. He approached her and tried to get her to come to him. This mom yelled and blew her horn and her daughter ran back to her car, and he drove off.
I can't believe this happened right in my neighborhood. This goes to show that you can never be too careful. We definitely need to keep a watchful eye on our kids and make sure they know how to act if they are ever in situations such as these. I found this website that has good information on how to teach our kids about stranger danger. http://www.pollyklaas.org/safe/talk-to-strangers.html
