Summer vacation: New York City

Holland Tunnel

September 11 Memorial: When I was there I had this feeling of sadness because so many people died there!!
New building at the September 11 memorial

The nearly 3,000 names of the men, women and children killed in the attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 are inscribed in bronze on parapets surrounding the twin memorial pools.

On top of the Empire State Building: It was amazing!!!! The view was just incredible, so beautiful!!!!

The ferry ride around the bay: It was so much fun to take this ride and see the beautiful view of the city and the Statue of Liberty!!

I love this view!!

Visiting the American Girl store

Time Square!!! This place is incredible, it was packed with people!!

The Subway, it is very hard to get around the subway when you have 4 strollers and there is no elevators!! We had to carry them up and down the stairs!!

The view of Central Park from the Museum of Natural History

Museum of Natural History

This view is from one of the windows at the museum. It is so gorgeous, it is Central Park with NYC in the background.

Taking a break at the museum

Enjoying a meal at a Chinese Restaurant

Beautiful NYC Temple.  It is nice to be able to take a break from all the walking and from the heat and have a clean air conditioned place to sit and rest and a clean bathroom too!! In this building is the temple, a chapel, church offices and a distribution center.  As we were relaxing in the church's office waiting room, I saw on the desk a pack of business cards that said Ahmad Corbitt.  My brother had a missionary, an African-American companion named Elder Corbitt.  Recently I found out that he lives in New Jersey through a Facebook friend that mentioned it to my brother. He is her Stake
President.  So I called my brother and he confirmed that Ahmad Corbitt was his companion and asked me to leave him a note with my brother's information.

Ahmad S. Corbitt is director of the New York Office of Public and International Affairs of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his colleagues regularly represent the
Church at United Nations and other international activities and events, and in meetings with U.N.
diplomats and other foreign dignitaries. He has similar responsibilities with national, regional
and local events and dignitaries. As a church spokesperson, Brother Corbitt also interacts with
the media on behalf of the Church. (BYU.edu)
