Our new pets!!!!

The kids have been asking us to get them a fish for a pet. We have never gotten a dog or cat because, one, we have allergies and two we just don't want the hazzle of taking care of a pet. Well we decided that we would get the fish. In the past we have had a small fish tank and the fish would die within a week or two. So, this time we got a bigger tank (10 gallons) and we are hoping they last a little longer. You can see in the kids faces how excited they were.

Our busy week!!!!

We had a busy week. Tuesday Alison had a volleyball game, and did not get home until past 10 pm. Parker had volleyball practice until 8:30 pm. On Wednesday Parker had guitar lessons and Boy Scouts, and Alison had volleyball practice and could not make it to mutual because she had too much homework. On Thurday Alison had a volleyball game and Parker had Tae Kwon Do. On Friday Parker had his first volleyball game. He did really good, it was fun to watch him play. I really like the YMCA because everyone plays the same amount of time, the coaches are parent volunteers and they are great. I also like it because Conner goes in the childcare which he loves and I can enjoy the game. On Saturday Parker had a Tae Kwon Do tournament he did a great job. He needs to participate in three tournaments before he gets black belt, but that is still a long ways away. Brent was in charge of a volleyball clinic for the youth of our stake on Saturday morning at the Stake Center. I wasn't able to go because of the tournament but he said that it went well, Alison had a great time. Also on Saturday afternoon Alison had her tennis lesson. This past summer Alison started taking tennis lessons on Saturdays to stay in shape because she wasn't playing volleyball, and her teacher is so impressed with her. She is constantly telling me how good she is at tennis. Alison is now thinking of playing for the school's team. I am excited, that is something new for us, so it will be fun to watch her play. Poor Conner just went everywhere with us but since almost all of Parker's activities are at the YMCA he is happy because he gets to play. It is no wonder I am tired by the end of the week but I feel it is worth it. The kids just want to do it.

"Satreih"

Today I took Parker to Barnes & Noble where they were having a signing of the book "Satreih". The author Kristina Skilling, is a junior at Freedom High School, Brittany went there for her sophomore year when we were living in an apartment, while we were building our current home. Here is a picture of Parker and Kristina. He really likes the book and I am sure he is going to finish reading it in a day.

No, it's Burtney

Last week in Conner's preschool they were talking about their families and Conner took a picture of our family to share with his class. His teacher asked him what the names of his siblings were. He told her the names but has always called Brittany, Burtney instead. She asked him if it was Brittany and he said "No, it's Burtney". So after school she asked me what my girl's names were and I told her their names and she said "good, I didn't think you would name a girl Burtney".

Also Conner has been asking for a black suit for church just like Parker's and Daddy's. I bought him a suit yesterday. He woke up this morning and asked what day it was, when I told him it was Sunday he said "today I can wear my black suit". He was really excited.

Tropical Storm Fay

Thanks to Fay we did not have school on Tuesday. It actually wasn't a bad day, just some rain and a little wind. Yesterday was worse and they had school. Then I got a phone call last night from the school district saying that school was cancelled for today. Again we just had some rain and wind but not too bad. I am glad it wasn't bad but I wish the kids were in school.
