Peter Pan

We went to see Peter Pan at Conner’s school. Conner played the clarinet in the orchestra. I’m very impressed at how good the play and the orchestra were. Unfortunately they always mess up Conner’s name in the program. They always write Conner with an “o” and Hanson with an “e”

Conner's 9th grade picture

My sweet boy is growing up. I can't believe he is in 9th grade. He is so handsome!

Lake Reams Ward Halloween Trunk or Treat

Our Ward Trunk or Treat was fun! I was the only one in the family that dressed up haha. Brent and Conner don't like to dress up for Halloween but still had a good time.

General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

I was asked by a member of my Ward which of the General Conference talks I liked best. I have to say that my favorite was President Nelson's "The Correct Name of the Church".  As I was listening to him I truly felt as if the Lord himself was speaking. To me it was so powerful and I knew that the Lord wanted His church to called by His name.

President Nelson said: "What’s in a name or, in this case, a nickname? When it comes to nicknames of the Church, such as the “LDS Church,” the “Mormon Church,” or the “Church of the Latter-day Saints,” the most important thing in those names is the absence of the Savior’s name. To remove the Lord’s name from the Lord’s Church is a major victory for Satan. When we discard the Savior’s name, we are subtly disregarding all that Jesus Christ did for us—even His Atonement."

"When we omit His name from His Church, we are inadvertently removing Him as the central focus of our lives."

"Taking the Savior’s name upon us includes declaring and witnessing to others—through our actions and our words—that Jesus is the Christ. Have we been so afraid to offend someone who called us “Mormons” that we have failed to defend the Savior Himself, to stand up for Him even in the name by which His Church is called?"

But this statement at the beginning of the talk got me, I truly felt it when he said the Savior is offended and I don't want to offend Him.

"Thus, the name of the Church is not negotiable. When the Savior clearly states what the name of His Church should be and even precedes His declaration with, “Thus shall my church be called,” He is serious. And if we allow nicknames to be used or adopt or even sponsor those nicknames ourselves, He is offended."

As I went on my walk on Saturday morning, the weather was so nice, it was 71 degrees finally, I was listening to the Book of Mormon. I am now reading on 3 Nephi and that day I was on Chapter 27. This is the chapter where the Jesus commands them to call the church by His name. Again I was deeply touched as I remembered President Nelson's talk.

In this chapter the Apostles had been preaching all that they had heard from the Savior when he appeared to them in the Americas after His resurrection. The Savior appeared to them again and in verse 3 they asked:

3 And they said unto him: Lord, we will that thou wouldst tell us the name whereby we shall call this church; for there are disputations among the people concerning this matter.
Jesus Christ answers them on verse 4 through 6
4 And the Lord said unto them: Verily, verily, I say unto you, why is it that the people should murmur and dispute because of this thing?
5 Have they not read the scriptures, which say ye must take upon you the name of Christ, which is my name? For by this name shall ye be called at the last day;
6 And whoso taketh upon him my name, and endureth to the end, the same shall be saved at the last day.
President Nelson said:

"Instead, it is a correction. It is the command of the Lord. Joseph Smith did not name the Church restored through him; neither did Mormon. It was the Savior Himself who said, “For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” (D&C 115:4)

I know that President Nelson is a true Prophet of God and is His mouthpiece here on the earth for the whole world. I know that Jesus Christ wants us to call His church by His name. I know He revealed this to our Prophet.

But my most favorite part of the Conference was THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE TEMPLE IN SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO!!!!  I am so EXCITED about this temple!!! I know my parents are so happy in heaven. I can't wait!!!

My aunt Ana Sotomayor

On September 18th, 2018 My aunt Ana Sotomayor Muñoz passed away. She was 104 years old. We loved her very much and I knew she loved me and my family. I would call her from time to time to speak with her and ask her questions, she always enjoyed telling me stories about her life.
